What Wind-Tunnel Testing Says About Aero Socks

14 October 2026 · GARVETTI Industry News

Cyclingnews tested 26 pairs of socks in a wind tunnel, comparing cycling and non-cycling designs. Its results showed a difference between ordinary socks and cycling socks, but no consistent winner among products marketed as aero socks.

GARVETTI perspective: Surface texture and fit can affect an aerodynamic garment, but a fabric label alone cannot prove a performance gain. Testing should reflect the finished product and its intended use.
